Warwickshire Drooper is named for the vigorous weeping habit of its branches.

An attractive medium / large English yellow plum, grown commercially in the first half of the 20th century, particularly in Warwickshire

The plums have a pleasant flavour for eating fresh when ripe, but are best picked slighly under-ripe for use in the kitchen, which is where this plum excels.

Growing and Training

Warwickshire Drooper is easy to grow, and notably hardy. It produces a relatively large tree, with a spreading / drooping habit, well-suited to training as a fan. For best results plant in full sun, but this variety will tolerate some shade too.
